ICRA's CSR Mission

ICRA envisions to make stronger communities and enrich the lives of underprivileged people through its programmes that endeavor to:

◉ empower underprivileged youths and adults (with special focus on women) with employable skills, create livelihood opportunities for them so that they may contribute to the economic development of the society;

◉ Promote education;

◉ Support environmental sustainability.

It may, however, undertake and support projects/programmes in the other areas as may be recommended by the Committee and approved by the Board of Directors, if the same are permissible under Schedule VII of the Act or any other provisions of the Act and the Rules.

Skill Development

Women Entrepreneurship Programme (WEP)

We at ICRA, recognized that in addition to limited access to credit, women face several hurdles on their path to economic empowerment - illiteracy, lack of awareness about finances, and enterprise management to name a few. However, our experience also shows that many women have the potential to be successful entrepreneurs if they are given proper support. Keeping this purpose in mind, the Women Entrepreneurship Programme was conceived to fill these skill and knowledge gaps by providing skill-building training along with hand-holding support in business and financial management to the women. Efforts were also made to facilitate linkages for financial assistance to make their enterprise a sustainable one.

This programme is running in Gujarat, in collaboration with the Friends of Women World Banking, India. As per the Boards’ approval this programme will be continued for FY 2023-24 with 500 women.

Education

Sponsorship Programmes

ICRA firmly believes in promoting inclusive education for children. It means we strive hard to nurture ecosystems that enable learning for all. With this vision in mind, we are currently involved in a few such initiatives.

This programme is being run with the Vidya Integrated Development for Youths & Adults (VIDYA) and Deepalaya. These are NGO-run schools that house classrooms, laboratories, computers, and a library. The quality of education and facilities are on par with some of the best public schools in the city. These schools provide over 2000 marginalized children with quality education and improved infrastructure and facilities in Haryana i.e. in the slum areas of Gurgaon and villages of Mewat, respectively. ICRA’s aim is to equip the children with the opportunities of India’s emerging economy and motivate them to excel in their varied fields and lead India into the future.

ICRA is currently sponsoring approximately 241 children from VIDYA and Deepalaya. As per the Board’s approval, sponsorship programmes will be continued for FY 2023-24 with the same set of 241 students.

Special School Project

ICRA education initiative has expanded to a new horizon in the financial year 2023-24 with inclusion of 340 children with special needs. With collaboration with Jai Vakeel Foundation & Research Centre, Mumbai, it ensures a holistic learning space for children with (Intellectual Development Disability). Through the Special School Project, children and their parents are equipped and empowered to bring the best among their children with the help of teachers specialised in teaching children with Intellectual Developmental Disability. As ICRA has empowered children in the education sector, it continues to do so by including children and individuals with special needs.

Open Basic Education Programme

Education is a tool that can transform the lives of individuals as it can empower them to make informed decisions, advocate for their rights, and contribute to the social and economic development of their communities. Through the open basic education programme, during the financial year 2023-24, ICRA through VIDYA Centre of Excellence in Bengaluru is offering 132 children an opportunity to learn and grow in a flexible educational environment which they couldn’t achieve under traditional schooling method due to financial constraints.

Employee Volunteering Programme

At ICRA we believe in making positive impact on the world around us. With our robust employee Volunteering Program, our employees are empowered to give back to the community and make a difference in the lives of others. We encourage them to engage in a meaningful volunteering work that is close to their heart. While we work with several external agencies for our various outreach programmes, we firmly believe that more needs to be done as an organization. Hence, several volunteering initiatives are organized within our organization.

It is a great platform for ICRA employees to engage in social outreach initiatives and community programmes, as it strengthens our ongoing projects and celebrates our employees' efforts. During these activities, our employees realize the difference that they make in the lives of individuals and communities. We strive hard to ensure that each employee contributes to society in some way, thereby enabling people to become responsible and work towards the larger agenda of social responsibility.
